Questions asked about taking a holiday if you're running a business

Should small business owners take holidays?

I’ve been running my own business for 33 years. For the first 13 years I never dared to take holidays, wanting to protect the investment I had made in my business, my nose was relentlessly against the grindstone. Luckily these days and through encouragement from my life partner I take holidays regularly.

Taking holidays for the small business owner is a major conundrum. Not taking holidays can do more harm than good, not only for family and friends but for the business as well.

So with this subject in mind and to show that you’re not the only one facing this conundrum I decided to scrape some information off the internet, I hope this information in this article helps and leads you to make that leap to be able to go away on holiday with the people you care about.

Small business owners can’t be good at everything, but many are particularly bad at taking time off. Research published by business software provider Sage suggests that more than 30% of UK small business owners didn’t have a summer holiday last year.
