Throughout 2013, Pinsent Masons LLP is running a number of projects and construction breakfast briefings designed to address the key issues facing the industry.

The September Breakfast Briefing will focus on Design Liability. Analysing design responsibility is at the heart of much of what we do. Understanding where design responsibility sits is key when agreeing price: if you get it wrong, the project has the potential to become a commercial disaster. This seminar will cover the standards of care that generally apply in respect of design work and the scope of design responsibility. As part of that, we will review some of the standard forms and how they treat design, we will discuss some of the common amendments that we see and what they mean, and finally we'll review what can happen when design responsibility disputes arise.
