September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. ❤️

The theme is about recognising the great things we all have within us to make a difference.

Whether you decide to sign up to the stem cell register (amazing) so that you can donate to a stranger in need and give them a second chance at life, bake a cake or run a 10k and raise vital funds for DKMS (absolutely brilliant).  As well as doing all these fantastic things you can also help our member, Louise Clague, Donor Recruitment Manager North, to raise awareness by spreading the word, or introducing her to organisations to get them swabbing … we know #YouveGotItInYou.

And here’s a great example, Louise's daughter, Izzy, aged 18. Izzy lost her beloved Daddy to blood cancer when she was just 14. Heartbroken she has somehow channelled her sadness to do incredible things. An A* student, about to embark on a Masters in Cancer Sciences at Nottingham University, where her Daddy went. She’s after that cure... and wow, what motivation Izzy has!

She’s also about to become a DKMS UK student ambassador to encourage more youngsters to get swabbing and save lives.
